What We Are Most Thankful For This Holiday Season

thanksgiving Thanksgiving is a wonderful family tradition where we all gather around the table and enjoy our favorite foods cooked by our loved ones. Some of us remember fondly, family members: Grandma’s and Grandpa’s, Uncles and Aunts and those that are no longer with us. Many employees got engaged this year and others welcomed new babies to their family. Some of us thought about our wonderful childhood and our parents slaving over the stove. One employee runs a pet fostering home and furry friends are her family!  Others thought about how thankful they were to be in a different work family.  However, it is all the same. It is feeling like you’re part of a community, a family.

I think of those who are not as blessed as we all are.  For those who do not have a homemade meal to go home to or don’t celebrate this special holiday because they may be alone.  Or those who live in another country and do not have the freedom that we as American’s at home have. I always want to share gratitude to our military and their families, who sacrifice so much for our freedom.  This year I am especially grateful for all of my blessings.

Below are some of the blessings for which or coworkers are thankful for. As I read all of these submissions my heart was filled with gratitude and a yearning to get to know all of these team members.

Things to be thankful for, of course, include being blessed with having family elders still in our lives, food on our tables and roofs over our heads.  In my most recent years, that list has grown to include much more.  The addition of two grandchildren, surviving a trip back to college to get my degree and a great job working with an amazing team of incredible folks have all topped my list.  Our family, as a military family, has grown to understand that one of the most precious things that we could be grateful for is TIME.  Time to be together as a family.  We have watched our love for each other grow through illness, deployments overseas and the loss of friends and loved ones.  We have developed a special appreciation for those who sacrificed everything and spent their lives in service so that we could live free and have that time.  My wish is for everyone to be as blessed as my family and have a safe and healthy Thanksgiving!

I am most thankful for having my Mom with us this season! Family is so important and I cherish every moment I spend with them! If it is the people living under my roof, or extended family and friends, I am thankful to have every one of them in my life! I really enjoy being with them and the holidays is a special time for us!

I have so much to be thankful for.  My wonderful parents sacrificed many things to make sure my sister and I had the best education they could give us.  They are the most genuine people I know.  I am also thankful for my older sister.  She has the most wonderful heart and soul.  My two daughters, Kristen and Alexis are such a God send to me.  They are the reason I push myself every day to be the best person I can be.  My fiancé Markus has taught me to trust and love again.  I am so thankful for his kind heart.  Through hard times, I realized who my true friends are and who will always be there for me.  I am thankful to have them in my life and all the support I receive from them.  I am so very thankful to be a part of The Liberty Group family.  They have faith in my abilities to open and manage a successful branch and their trust and support mean the world to me.

This is the time of year to be thankful for all of our blessings, big and small.  I am personally very thankful for my family – which includes my daughter, fiancé, mother, father, brother, and my brother’s immediate family.  My family is very close and we love each other unconditionally. I also consider my pet’s family and I feel blessed to have them as well J  I am also very thankful for all of my friends.  As the years have gone by my focus on friendship has been narrowed down by quality, not quantity.  I am very thankful for the individuals who have been there for me through the good and bad despite the crazy obstacles life can bring.  I am also very thankful for having a job that allows me to support myself, my daughter, and my furry babies as well.  I owe a special thanks to Shonna Schneider, my original hiring manager, for her faith and confidence in my abilities and offering me a chance at new beginnings.  It was on Thanksgiving Day last year that I received the announcement from her of my offer to join The Liberty Group family.  This just goes to show that sometimes friends, family, and opportunity are true blessings every day of this season!

I am thankful for the opportunity to work for Liberty, a company that appreciates you as an employee and values your presence and input in your daily performance and to be a part of such a fast growing innovative staffing company with great co-workers that really care about the temp employees they send to work and are always willing to help them as much they can.  I am thankful for the love of my husband, children, grand and great grandchildren and for the love and guidance of my parents and my church. I am so very thankful to God for EVERYTHING & JESUS AND HOPE! I am truly blessed to be a blessing to others!

I am most thankful for my family and friends.  Today my uncle lost his battle with cancer.   Losing a loved one is a reminder of how important it is to ”live” life to the fullest, enjoy the company of family and friends and to make moments that are memories.  When someone you love becomes a memory, their memory becomes a treasure.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I find myself always reflecting during this time of year about what I am the most thankful for.  I always try to think outside the box and look for something creatively interesting. However, there isn’t anything fascinating about my life.  I don’t have big toys or a thrilling car or live in a mansion but what I do have is the most special family in the world.  I am so thankful God has giving me two beautiful sons, who are quite different in their own way.  Each is very unique and holds a very special place in my heart.  They are healthy, smart, athletic, witty, loving children who are also very handsome J  My heart melts with each smile and each milestone they concur in their lives.  I have a loving husband who has stood by me for 23 years and some of those years, there have been times when most men would have thrown in the towel J  So, when I look at what I am thankful for; the things I am most thank for are the little things, the life moments that most people look past and look towards their next greatest accomplishment.  I tend to cherish the small things that become big things as we get older.  So during this time of year, sit back, soak up the laughs, the smiles, the hugs and the family time because at the end of the day, when we are much older and our life moments become pictures in our minds and it’s the times we spent together that are most important!

I’m thankful for my dedicated temp employees that we can rely on whenever we are in a pinch or when we have just the right order that we know will fit their experience.  When we can rely on a candidate, it doesn’t just make us happy or look good, but it makes our clients happy in knowing we are sending the best of the best to represent their business. I’m also thankful for my family that is very understanding of the interruptions that come up as our job isn’t just 9-6, its 24/7.  With the love and support of my family understanding this…I’m able to save business that could’ve been lost if I didn’t devote my time to filling cancellations and no call no show’s before/after business hours and especially those weekend assignments that are so crucial to each client’s business.

With both of my parents having passed years ago, I always feel kind of lonely, especially around the holidays, but this year is different! Thanks to social media and an amazing Disney cruise this last summer. I not only connected with some of my cousins, I also connected with some of my husband’s family and the holidays are going to be full of family. I also consider myself lucky, because my co-workers have become like family, as well! I am truly thankful for all of the family, old and new, that have come into my life.

I am so grateful for the animals in my life every day, but especially during the holidays, I cherish them more. My three dogs are the best out there! They love unconditionally and make my day better every day-good or bad days. They are also the reason that I can help stray, unwanted and homeless dogs find their forever homes. Because my dogs are so loved and loving, we have been able to help over 300 dogs and puppies over the years. And I am so grateful for each and every one of them that has come through my door. They have learned how to live a life a love and they return that love tenfold. Each one that has entered my house has taught me something and fostering is the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I am so fortunate to be able to live a life where helping these animals is possible.

I am extremely thankful for a wonderful family, incredible partner, amazing friends, and great working team, who have supported me throughout my journey of successes and adventures.  This year I was given the power to make the impossible possible with meeting an amazing partner who has stood beside me throughout my journey (both professionally and personally), capability to develop a strong working team (Banking Division), making fantastic new friendships and strengthening old friendships, doing my 1st triathlon, my 1st half Ironman, and continuing to grow as a person both professionally and personally.  I look forward to continuing my journey into 2015!

I lost my Grandma this year and she helped raise me and meant so much to me. She taught me how to love and put my family first, to work hard and play hard.  I am thankful I have all of my memories with her that I will cherish forever. This loss made me so grateful for my two children, my wonderful fiancé and my large family. The Liberty Group who has had faith in me and every day shows how much they care about our employees, our industry and they truly care about our community. I look forward to 2015!
– Shonna Schneider

As I recalled the year’s events, tears filled my eyes and all I could think of were the five people and or things that made my life truly amazing this year: My fiancé, my children, the City of Houston, and The Liberty Group. Never in a million years did I expect to work for such an amazing company. I am truly blessed to be a part of this team.
